“Disaster and Emergency” Training and Earthquake Drill was Held

Within the Faculty of Dentistry and Oral and Dental Health Application and Research Center; "Disaster and Emergency" training was given by Erdem Gümüş and Emre Çalışkan, Branch Managers from Çanakkale Provincial Disaster and Emergency (AFAD) Directorate. After the training, an earthquake drill was carried out.
In the training organized for academic and administrative staff; Information was given about the preparations that should be made before disasters such as earthquakes, fire, landslides, floods and avalanches, and what should be done during and after disasters occur.
Branch Manager Gümüş said, “62 percent of our country's land is covered with fault lines, 90 percent of our population lives on or near these fault lines, 90 percent of our industrial facilities, 95 percent of our dams are on or near these fault lines, 25 provincial centers and "110 district centers are right on the fault lines," he said, pointing out that both our region and our country are at risk of earthquakes.
In the drill held in the Center building after the training; After the alarm went off, a collapse-cover-hold application was performed for one minute. Then the building was evacuated. The exercise ended after the briefing given by Branch Manager Erdem Gümüş in the emergency meeting area.
