Our Endodontics Department and the Endodontics Clinic have been serving since 2020 in the Faculty of Dentistry building located in Kepez.
The Endodontics Department is staffed with 1 Associate Professor, 2 Assistant Professors, and 9 research assistants.
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and maintenance of the health of the dental pulp, which consists of living tissues such as blood vessels and nerves, and the surrounding tissues of the tooth. Endodontics is commonly associated with root canal therapy. The field involves the prevention of pulp-related diseases, management of existing diseases in living pulp, tooth whitening of endodontically treated teeth, retreatment of previously treated teeth, treatment of teeth traumatized from a dental perspective, and endodontic surgical procedures, addressing a wide range of dental health issues.
In our department, routine endodontic treatments, such as root canal therapy, are provided to dental students as part of the undergraduate dental education program. Additionally, within the scope of specialization in Endodontics, our postgraduate students receive both theoretical and practical training in routine endodontic treatments as well as advanced endodontic procedures.
